Michael J Ulery, and accordingly, his music is the result in a cumulative effort of exploration and natural affinity towards roots and Americana acoustic music. Involved in many genres over the span of his creative output, he has continually gravitated towards earthy, organic, roots oriented playing when performing solo. Drawing from influences from delta blues, to his Appalachian heritage (Mothers side), to the American primitive sounds of artists like Elizabeth Cotten, John Fahey, to Roscoe Holcomb and everything in between ... even touches of classical, jazz, ethnic, and his earliest exposure and experience into early underground heavy music.
